Eurospan Acquisition Update

Following on from the acquisition of the Eurospan Group in August 2024, Mare Nostrum Group (MNG) is delighted to announce that it has now signed the majority of Eurospan’s clients and fully integrated their team and systems into its work processes. MNG is now responsible for the sales, marketing, and distribution of over 120 prestigious academic, professional, and society publisher clients outside of North America. Stock of these new clients is available to order via MNG’s fulfilment partner, Wiley, and many have also signed with MNG’s print-on-demand partner, CPI.

In total, Mare Nostrum Group has signed nearly 100 new presses, including large academic, society, and professional publishers such as:

  • American Academy of Ophthalmology,
  • American Academy of Pediatrics

With the support of its in-house recruitment team, the company’s staff count has doubled to over 50 employees, through the transition of ex-Eurospan staff and the creation of new roles, to ensure that there is a strong, well-resourced team to drive the business forward. This influx of talent has enabled the company to restructure the team, to help manage its new clients effectively and build a more comprehensive service, whilst maintaining the same level of focus and high-quality service for existing MNG publisher clients.

David Pickering, managing director, comments:

It’s been a significant amount of work in the past six months but we have made incredible progress in assimilating and integrating a struggling business and its team, whilst maintaining a high-quality service for core, existing clients. We feel privileged to have been trusted by so many prestigious academic, professional, and society publishers, and are excited about their prospects and our ability to improve their reach and turnover in our key markets. With our new e-commerce site due to launch this year, and a strengthened, high-calibre team driving forward the business, we are looking forward to a record year in 2025.
