Mare Nostrum Group Launches MNG Bookshop

A Dedicated Platform for Academic and Professional Publishing

Mare Nostrum Group (MNG) is pleased to announce the launch of MNG Bookshop, a direct-to-consumer platform developed in partnership with Supadu. The new online bookshop has been designed to serve the academic and professional community, providing researchers, educators, and students with centralised access to scholarly and professional publications.

As the exclusive distributor for over 100 academic, professional, and society publishers, MNG has developed a comprehensive digital storefront that brings together humanities titles from prestigious university presses alongside scientific, technical, and medical publications from leading STM publishers. The platform represents the first centralised destination where publications from MNG’s diverse publisher portfolio are available in a single location.

To mark the launch, MNG has introduced a curated collection of subject highlights, available here, showcasing the breadth of titles now accessible through the platform. These initiatives, alongside promotional activities across social media channels, have been designed to introduce the bookshop to the wider academic community.

The MNG Bookshop has been developed with features tailored to the specific requirements of the academic market, including dedicated inspection copy request processes customised to individual publisher specifications, subject-specific newsletters delivering targeted content to specialist audiences, and exclusive academic discounts designed to improve accessibility to scholarly works.

The platform will also serve as a hub for academic discourse, featuring an integrated blog with conference coverage, expert book reviews, author interviews, and industry developments. Additionally, a specialised newsletter will enable academics to receive updates focused on specific areas within their fields of research.

While the initial launch focuses on print publications, e-book availability will be introduced in the near future, establishing MNG Bookshop as a comprehensive destination for both print and digital publications from MNG’s publisher partners.

David Pickering, Managing Director, comments:

This launch represents our commitment to serving both our publishing partners and the broader academic ecosystem. By leveraging our established relationships with university presses, professional, and society publishers, we’re creating a streamlined distribution channel that benefits the entire scholarly community. We welcome feedback from users as we continue to develop and enhance the platform’s capabilities.
