MNG Strengthens Its Management Team

At Mare Nostrum we are always looking to improve the tailored service we provide to our clients and to invest in new team members to drive forward ideas and initiatives. We are therefore pleased to be able to announce two significant staff developments.

We are delighted to announce the promotion of Charlotte Anderson, who will move from her current sales management role into the MNG University Press team as Senior Client Manager, University Presses. Charlotte worked in our University Press team for several years before moving into her current sales role. Her knowledge of our clients’ books and passion for the UP mission, combined with the sales and business operations acumen gained during her time in the sales team, will make her a valuable addition to an already strong UP team.

Charlotte will be working with the current University Press team to provide sales, analysis, and business systems support for the leading UPs distributed by Mare Nostrum Group. This will involve collaborating with the marketing leads, championing UP titles to the sales team, and liaising with the presses directly to provide feedback on performance, market trends, and opportunities. Charlotte will also be tasked with ensuring there is a streamlined workflow between the marketing, sales, logistics, data, and operations teams.

We are also thrilled to announce that Alex Taylor has been hired as Senior Digital Business Development Manager. Alex has had an impressive career to date, rising in Sage Publishing from Digital Sales Manager to Head of Digital Sales Partnerships, as well as excelling in previous roles at Proquest and Cambridge University Press. We have hired Alex to strengthen our ebook and digital services offering and she will work alongside members of the Mare Nostrum team already engaged with ebook marketing, sales, vendor management, and reporting.

David Pickering, Managing Director of Mare Nostrum Group, comments:

The promotion of Charlotte and hiring of Alex will add a significant amount of experience into senior positions within the business and we are excited about the benefits this will bring to our clients. We’re proud of the service we offer, and the addition of these roles demonstrates MNG’s ongoing commitment to being the best option for university presses looking to improve their marketing reach and grow their global audience.
